You never know what you can find on eBay these days.
It turns out that there is a low-cost LCD shutter glasses package called "3D Adventure" being sold on eBay that claims to work with NVIDIA's GeForce 3D Vision drivers. Credit goes to MTBS member

finding this. As with NVIDIA's GeForce 3D Vision, the product is expected to work with high refresh rate displays like 120Hz monitors and HDTVs.
