Yes, it's clunky looking and is reported to weigh over 16 kilgrams, but based on the original press release, we think this could be a bit more than elaborate than the other glasses-free solutions in the market.

I guess they are, in effect, putting very large 'shutter glasses' over the barrier or leticular screen.

The screen is using a dual backlight switching method to present a full HD 1920x1080 resolution to each eye, a technology already seen on the Fuji W1 and W3 cameras back screens.

Since the monitor is using a directional backlight and time lag effect, each naked eye is hit pretty much at the same time using the same pixel to generate that 3D effect.

It should mean that the display panel shutters between left and right eye views while it also alters the directional backlighting of the monitor. Curious on how it looks!

basically , its 80pieces of LED DLP projectors. OFC the technique behind is maddening and there has to be a better way, LOL.

Its using a "directed backlight" type solution. So it is full 1080P, no interleaving. I imagine it would look pretty good actually, although it remains to be seen how much ghosting there is and how well it handles fast motion. And its still susceptible to the usual issues with auto-stereo, namely a very small viewing angle. However it is one step closer to where we need to be.

Clunky? Understatement. And ugly. Look at the "bezel" width. The looks remind of something out of an early sci-fi TV show or something.
