Re: CEO of LG just said that ALL LG TV's will be 3D-Ready!
There is uncertainty/confusion regarding LG. None of the just-announced LG HDTVs say anything about 3D. (e.g. search for "3D" in this page http://pimsmultimedia.com/lgces2009/con ... /press.php which contains all LG's CES announcement, and you won't find anything)
My guess is the just-announced models (that are for sale very soon) don't have "3D chipset", but they are demo-ing some 3D models in CES, and a future (next?) round of models will have the 3D chipsets. But we'll see.

Re: CEO of LG just said that ALL LG TV's will be 3D-Ready!
Also, disappointing news from Samsung. No mentioning of any 3D support from any of the announced HDTVs.
Nothing regarding DLP HDTVs (i.e. looks like no more DLP HDTVs from Samsung; Mitsubishi is the only one left).
There are evidences from other sources that the 42" and 50" 720p plasmas will continue for another year (with S3D support and minimal update), but they are not announced (because 720p HDTVs are not mentioning).
So looks like no S3D 1080p plasma or LCD HDTVs from Samsung.
Now hoping for good news from Sony and Panasonic ...
P.S. the 22" 120Hz LCD monitor from Samsung is $399 MSRP and available in April

Doesn't look good so far for either Panasonic or Sony, regarding S3D HDTV that one can buy in 2009. The announced HDTVs from both companies do not mention anything about S3D support. Both may be demo'ing some S3D prototypes but they don't look like 2009 models.
From this slide during Panasonic CES conference http://www.engadget.com/photos/hands-on ... a/1264854/ seems like S3D plasma is a future thing.
Just found this http://whathifi.com/News/CES-2009-Panas ... -for-2010/ that also points to 2010.
For Sony, both this http://www.istockanalyst.com/article/vi ... id/2935437 and this http://www.engadget.com/2009/01/07/live ... ess-event/ (the comment on 5:03PM) mentioned that there will be 3D HDTV prototypes on display, implying "not 2009 models".

hmm... The Samsung news is quite interesting since there was a news story about DDD embedding their 3d chip in Samsung sets. Guess we will have to wait and see what shows up on the floor...
