How to Get Started

Getting started is easy!

First, download the Vireio Perception 2.X and VRBoost archives from MTBS’ downloads section.  We had to keep the files separate for licensing reasons, but they should both be extracted to the same directory.  You need to be registered on MTBS to download the files, but registration is free and instantaneous.  Email customerservice@mtbs3D.com if you have difficulty with this.

Next, run Vireio’s “perception.exe” file.

Select the VR / Stereoscopic 3D display option and applicable head tracker. Once open, don’t close this window completely.  Either keep the window open or minimized!

Review the documentation to see which titles are supported, and run your game!

If you don’t see the appropriate VR or 3D format on the screen and it appears like the drivers aren’t working, they just haven’t injected into the game yet. In cases like this, copy all the .DLL files from the Vireio Perception “bin” directory to the game’s EXE directory. The “EXE” directory refers to where the game’s main *.EXE or executable file(s) is stored. The files that need to be copied include d3d9.dll, libfreespace.dll, hijackdll.dll and VR Boost.dll where applicable.

Games may need additional modifications and adjustments for better field of view choices and graphics settings for VR use.  If you need help or wish to lend a hand, post regularly in Vireio Perception’s official discussion forums!

CAREFUL: Don’t use Vireio Perception with multplayer games with anti-cheat measures as the software could get recognized as a hack and either kick you or ban you.
