Ok!  Today's interview ranks as one of our favorites from Fan Expo.  It's not every day you get Bane, a Scottish Swordsman, and a Sith Lord in a single interview.  These guys were great, and they had a lot to say about Fan Expo and stereoscopic 3D gaming.  Who knows...maybe Bane will meet the right girl from this - you never know!

Its great that people are getting acquainted with 3d. Love the interviews. What I'd like to see is a video on the systems that IGO have setup. Are they using nvidia or amd gpus or both, are they using passive and/or active shutter, what types of 3d monitors/tv's they are using etc.....

Keep up the good work.

Ahhhhhhh! That's the one thing we didn't do! :(

However, I can answer your questions.

There were 16 computers in total (8 on 8). 14 were based on Zalman 24" polarized 3D monitors, and two were based on the Samsung 27" 3D HDTVs (LCD shutter glasses). All were running AMD 6870 GPUs. Eight of the machines were run in 2D, while the remaining eight were run in 3D with identical equipment and conditions. Through special software adjustments, all computers had identical visual experiences and performance levels. Whether gamers were playing in 2D or 3D, they were identically getting anywhere from 30 to 45 frames per second in the game. All 3D experiences were based on the DDD TriDef drivers. We also benefited from a very low ping dedicated BF3 server.

Regards,
Neil

Ah, thanks Neil. Kept watching the videos and wondering what the setups were. Thanks :)
