Hyundai IT has kicked off the work week with an announcement regarding the European release of two 3D LCD monitors, the 22-inch W220S and 24-inch W240S. Both bundled with polarized glasses, the monitors have a 1,000:1 contrast ratio, two 3W speakers, plus D-Sub, DVI and HDMI connectors.

They've got to be kidding. 500 euro for the 22" model when the Zalman sells for under 200? 1,400 euro for a 24", give me a break?!?!?

They've been available in Italy for a while by now, at least 8 months...from wat I remember the 22" used to cost 800 euros. Way too much, even the new prices are not that good.

It must be like thatrelaxman wrote: maybe they have better vertical viewing angle than Zalman?

But it is still a lot...to me, the best option still remains the 50" Plasma tv from Panasonic, due next year for 2000$.

And it will be compatible with BskyB's tv events too from what I read!
And 2010 soccer worldcup tournament!
By the way.... CAMPIONI CAMPIONI CAMPIONI!

Re: Hyundai bringing two 3D monitors to Europe
I have seen the 22" Hyundai at dimension 3D expo, it also has a narrow viewing agle.
I didn't spend much time in front of the screen though so i couldn't actually measure how big/narrow it was, but it did look different from the zalman screen.
On the zalman monitor, the ghosting appears progressively on the entire screen whereas on the hyundai it looks like if the ghosting appears in a sort of sharp wave effect.
Anyway, at 1400$, there's no way i'd buy it. It's a shame, I hope that Hyundai will find a way to lower the prices.
