I went to YouTube today and could not find any 3D settings on videos I know are stereoscopic 3D and even have the "3D" icon on YouTube!
Does anyone know if YouTube has stopped supporting stereo 3D display or is this just a moment where I caught them between updates?

Thanks for the response. This is horrible, I just got a 3d display that can view YouTube 3d right in the browser like the IZ3D used to do and now I can't use it that way.
I guess I'll have to figure out some way of downloading the videos until they fix it.

Still works for me in Firefox. Are you on PC or mobile? The 3D options don't appear in mobile for some reason.

My 3D videos are no longer 3D. I tried in Chrome and Firefox. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=NJHxbDa_tAA

Check the MTBS stuff. It all works still. Maybe if it's embedded on a website directly, it still works?

I'm on PC and I tried IE and Chrome and there are no 3D settings on YouTube.com
I guess I'll just pop it into fullscreen and switch my monitor to side-by-side mode, oh well.
Thanks for the reports all!

Youtube has switched to the HTML5 viewer which does not, for now, have 3D video support. The Flash player still exists but it is no longer used by default within Youtube. Which means that people searching for 3D videos at youtube.com can find them but can no longer play using their desired 3D format. Whatever plays is whatever was originally uploaded which means the original side-by-side or top-over-bottom video.
3D videos embedded on other web site pages still use the Flash player and display the 3D viewing options.
But Flash is dying - Apple hates Flash. Google doesn't support Flash on Android. Youtube is now pushing everyone to HTML5 instead of Flash.
We've heard, informally, that Youtube is aware of this but have not heard anything official as to whether they will fix it, or when they will fix it. And if they do expect to have a fix, is this in the near'ish term or a long ways off?
In the interim, some of us are stopping work on more online 3D videos until we hear what's up. The problem is that youtube switched their web pages to use HTML5. Embedded videos (and fullscreen videos) still use the flash player. That explains why 3d videos embedded here still work. At youtube, you can still force flash player by going fullscreen. Here is the cybereality video in fullscreen anaglyph 3D: https://www.youtube.com/v/NJHxbDa_tAAEDIT: Those who needed to read what I wrote below have hopefully read it already. It has been removed now. Thanks.

Thanks, HTML 5 is cool! More people will be able to view YouTube videos on more devices! I saw today that the stereoscopic 3d has been restored to YouTube!

I saw somebody claim that while composing the above post, but when I tried it with google chrome it still failed for me.

But the HTML5 player used to support 3D as well. Disappointing, but I guess it was always sort of a beta feature anyway.

I just tried it with IE and it works just like before, maybe they didn't fix it for Chrome yet?

Hello everyone, I was very frustrated not to be able to watch stereoscopic 3D videos on Youtube because that feature is still not available under the html5 player. I use Mozilla Firefox and Google Chromen under these browsers, the html5 player is the default player and the you can't even switch back to the flash video player if you want to. I've done the URL trick, it kind of works, but for some reason, I can't get it to run in full screen, only in maximized window (window frame and windows talkbar still visible). I found a solution to get it back the flash player in any regular Youtube page : plug-ins that force flash player ! examples : -> for firefox : https://addons.mozilla.org/fr/firefox/a ... eo-player/-> for chrome : https://chrome.google.com/webstore/deta ... dogpldapocNow I can finally get it to work properly... except the lack of visible 3D mode in the html viewer has had an unforseen consequence : Even though there is plenty of 3D content available, people just stopped using the 3D mode. They used "SBS" in the name isntead. Do any search with the 3D search filter and you almost don't find anything recent on Youtube, however just type SBS in the searh field and there's a mountain of new videos without the 3D tag. It's kind of depressing.

Hey BlackShark! Nice to see you're still alive.
Thanks for the tip. I haven't messed with YT3D in a bit, but I'm sure it'll help others.
