Up takes off for holidays Nov. 10

Walt Disney Studios Home Entertainment will unloose Up on Nov. 10 as a four-disc Blu-ray/DVD combo pack ($45.99); two-disc standard DVD ($39.99) and a single DVD.

The title is the next major 3D theatrical film that will roll out without the eye-popping effects on DVD and Blu-ray Disc. Advanced, or stereoscopic, 3D techonology standards have not yet been set for home viewing.

It almost makes me feel like that Hollywood doesn't want 3D out of it theatres! It's a shame too.

I'd almost rather them not release a sub-par anaglyph version. This at least makes it seem like they *will* release a full-quality stereoscopic version once all the standards are in place. This could also drive demand as consumers will wonder why they can't get the same experience at home.

I agree. It's a a pity that anaglyph is the only thing that works on most screens and at the same time destroys so much of the original experience. I'd love movies in 3d as well as 3d gaming. If there is quality 3d-media on consumerlevel then it with 3d-gaming will help progress a lot!
