2K Games and Bethesda Softworks Announce BioShock® & The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion® Bundle

June 17, 2009 – 2K Games and Bethesda Softworks are teaming up to deliver a value-packed experience that combines 2006 Game of the Year Winner The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion with 2007 Game of the Year Winner BioShock into one complete package. Beginning July 7, the BioShock & The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Bundle will be available in retailers across North America for an SRP of $39.99 on the Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft and $29.99 for Windows PCs.

With a combined bounty of more than 80 Game of the Year awards from the industry’s top publications, the BioShock & The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Bundle provide two critically acclaimed experiences that have set new benchmarks for their genres.

Taking the world by storm in 2006, Oblivion set a new benchmark for role-playing experiences for current-generation gaming. Lush visuals, expansive worlds and limitless character customization combine with unprecedented levels of player freedom and NPC interaction to form one of the most successful and critically acclaimed games ever created.

BioShock is the genetically enhanced shooter that weaved intricate storytelling with an intense and exciting journey though a decaying underwater Art Deco utopia gone mad. Caught between powerful forces and hunted down by mutated citizens, you are armed with a complete arsenal from simple revolvers to chemical throwers, but are also forced to genetically modify your DNA to create an even more deadly weapon: you.

The BioShock & The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion Bundle is rated M by the ESRB. For more information on BioShock please visit http://www.bioshockgame.com" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;. And what does this have to do with s3d? Apparently MTBS is for sale.

Hmmmm????

Bioshock and Oblivion were both reviewed on MTBS - and they both did well in S-3D.

I think it's important to see regular news related to gaming, especially PC games that are qualified to run in S-3D.

Neil

especially PC games that are qualified to run in S-3D.
that largely depends on what drivers your using, and its not like the games were sold as being compatible with certain 3d drivers. That arguement is equivalent to saying its ok to advertise for xbox on a linux advocacy forum because you can hack the xbox to run linux.

Or do whatever, how much did MTBS get paid for that ad anyways? I might be interested in buying a spot.

I wish we were paid. :D

We give game developers complimentary benefits when they implement native S-3D support, or we deem their games S-3D compatible. Keep in mind that in addition to talking about S-3D gaming, we wish to appeal to traditional 2D gamers so they will take an interest in 3D. Expect to see a lot more stories like this.

I don't know why you are calling it an advertisement. None of the stories printed here were paid for entry, and I trust MetalQueen to find content that will appeal to our members and potential S-3D gamers. It's not obligatory to read every story.

If you want to make a contribution to MTBS, you are welcome to. Most of what you see here is made possible by volunteers who put their personal time in to make this website possible. Individuals like Sharky, YuriyTheBest, Syd Bolton, WheatstoneHolmes, LukePC, and many more have contributed in some way. Is there something you can add to the site? Please PM me, and we can discuss it.

Regards,
Neil

I find it a little hypocritical when this sight will hawk non s3d related material yet delete fully s3d related posts and chat because they havent made an "agreement" (paid up?) with mtbs3d.

Where is the line drawn between money and advocacy?

Bioshock was demonstrated in S-3D in front of 800 people as part of a 3D technology demo at SIGGRAPH 2008.

Elder Scrolls IV was demonstrated in S-3D to 500 people at Dimension-3 Expo (2007) as part of another technology demo.

As for S-3D deleted posts, I don't know what you are talking about. As for secret agreements, I don't know what you are talking about. MTBS has not made any money from Bethesda Softworks or 2KGames. I don't know what this opinion is based on.

If there is something you wish to discuss, send me a PM.

Neil

Dear Okta and DavidGhast,

I post press releases and news stories that I think may be of interest to the community. The companies mentioned in the release did not send it to me. I found it online while researching stories for the Newswire. If you have additional stories to share, please feel free to email them to me at press@mtbs3d.com, and I will be sure to give you guys the credit.

Thanks in advance!! :D

Apologies if i am speaking out of my @ss but within the last few weeks there was a fellow speaking about his? new 3d display method in the forum and on the chat and he was asked not to post and the chats were deleted in favour of NAW discussion.
Also another guy from nvidia? was asked not to post unless it was in official capacity.

Your information is very much faulty. We had no idea a single press release would cause such a passionate response. We are consulting a crack team of ethics specialists and proctologists, and will get back to you at a later time.

The difference between what you are referring to and the subject of this thread is who is posting the advertising. It comes from people working for the company making the product or it comes from other people.

In the first case, permission to post need to be given by Neil after some private talk with him. From my understanding, this is because the forums are sponsored (that means they give money to MTBS3D to have their separate subsections in the forum) by TDVision and iZ3D. Feel free to ask Neil for details. The good thing is that freedom of speech about the sponsors is kept. You can post your point of view on the products of the sponsors, both the good points and the bad points without being moderated. I've done it plenty of times. It's fine as long as you keep a somewhat objective point of view and don't start calling names.

In the second case, talking about various products is fine as long you don't work for the company making the product. This can be considered advertising but you are doing it because you are interested in buying the product and not because you want to sell it. The difference is in who is posting the information.
