This is awesome news. We need more celebrity characters to endorse 3D. Every day it seems 3D gets closer to the mainstream and this news is no different. Lets hope he backs up his enthusiasm with some new stereo3d games and movies.
I kinda like this guy!
His movies have always triggered the fantasy and i think he had a lot of fun and a giving time making them. And even with fewer compromizes than many other moviemakers.
I'm not surprised afterthougt that spielberg is into s3d ... Once you've experience it once you cant go back , obvious inded !!!
Im myself dreaming of the game of the movie of tron2 in s3d !!!
Anyway he will make the tintin game of his movie in 3d i guess ,
well if his last set of movies is a sign of his credibility, then spielberg is a dying brand that may just end up hurting s3d. The industry needs to break away from cheesy movies, and this isnt the guy to do it.

He may not be 20 anymore but has also innovated a lot in Hollywood and people tend to listen to him. Two (of about a hundred) reasons to have him on the team.

come again? what has he done recently thats made any difference? Last time i checked he justs signs off on a project and his worker bees go quickly to work fabricating yet another cookie cutter childrens movie for him to slap his name onto. He never innovated a damn thing, he was just good at making blockbuster kids movies in the 80's and 90's and so people flocked to him as a cash cow who knew how to please the masses. Saying spielberg changed the film industry with his directing ability is like saying bill gates changed the computer industry because he was such an excellent programmer.

Its the absence of substance that is reflected in those who love his work.
Isn't that a tad patronizing against those who like some of his movies? No matter his age or later movies (of which some actually are more than decent btw) he indeed has an icon status. It's great that such person recognizes new tech and draws attention to it. I wouldn't exactly say he puts some cheeziness into the subject.... if it was Uwe Boll i had been with you all the way!
Peace!

I loved that movie when I was a kid. I think I saw it more than 10 times but that was long ago. I'm not sure I would like it as much now.
