Optically Compensated Bend (OCB)
The Toshiba America press release announced that it will be showing the technology that will enable the mass adoption of 3-D viewing in handheld devices. The small to medium handheld devices will be able to output autostereoscopic (viewing without the need for special glasses) images via the integration of an advanced 3-D film that use "Optically Compensated Bend (OCB) mode to deliver clear, true autostereoscopic viewing at a glance."
This particular development from Toshiba has overcome the obstacles of incorporating this type of tech into today's thin, high resolution displays and enables simultaneous 2-D and 3-D viewing an all or parts of the display no picture degradation.
