Decay : New Real-Time Graphics Demo Supporting 3D Glasses

Post by cybereality »

Hey guys! Been kind of out of the game for a while working on my own stuff. But I have a new graphics demo I've been making called Decay, and it will be supporting red/cyan anaglyph 3D glasses.

Here are some 2D screenshots, the graphics are pretty much final, but I'm working on the camera controls and cinematics now. It may be another week or two before I release.

And here is how it looks in 3D. You'll need red/cyan glasses to see this.

The 3D is done using a screen-space post-processing effect. There are some artifacts, but it renders really fast. About 1ms at 4K on an RTX 3060. And even though you lose some color, the 3D effect is real. I wanted to support anaglyph because it works on all monitors and you can get glasses for $1.

I'll update this post with a link and video when I launch. Thanks.

Awesome. Cyber are you still with Oculus? I've been out of the loop, had some serious health issues.

No, I left them a while ago. I've been going to school for Computer Science and working with Godot and other open source projects on Linux these days.

The demo looks fantastic. Any plans for a VR release?

Hey. Haven't checked back here in a LONG time either. Cool that I caught this post after your time lapse. This is giving me super deja-vu vibes visiting here during quieter times. I do miss your old avatar - but I'm nostalgic that way. Screen-shots look cool BTW.
