Was waiting for a review of the 3D quality... where are they generating depthmaps on the fly? Doesn't sound promising, just another 2D to 3D bogus conversion. ?

It was definitely 2D+Depth in all its glory.

Thanks, Neil... but that really doesn't tell me much since there are good depth maps and there are awful depth maps. I'm guessing this utilizes the latter, since they're generated on the fly. So I guess with poor 3D there's no way to evaluate the quality of the autostereo display... ?

The display itself was difficult to rate. The magic was happening via a conversion box that was either doing 2D-3D conversion or extrapolating a left/right view from a 3D BluRay (which in itself could have been a conversion) to a lenticular format.

Our camera person complained that the native 3D content had too many paradoxical anomalies caused by the conversion. The actual glasses-free portion was ok as far as ghosting is concerned, but the content itself was lacking.

Regards,
Neil
