Hey everyone, my team developed this game for the VR Jam, and now we're continuing development to add more content and polish.

Specter Seekers is a first-person horror game in which you explore an abandoned mansion home to a malevolent ghost. Equipped with only a headlight, you are initially defenseless against the ghost. Your goal is to acquire the means of fighting the ghost, and eliminating it once and for all.

In addition to this single-player mode, we are well along in developing a multiplayer mode, in which up to 3 players can play as the seeker from the single-player mode, and another player can be the ghost itself. This mode requires players be tactical and strategic to defeat the opposing team.

I'm posting this topic because I'd like to hear your impressions and feedback so we can consider it while we continue development. I'll also continue sharing updates to the game, so stay tuned!

I spotted this game on reddit and was impressed - looks really creepy. Looking forward to being able to play this, though unfortunately I don't think I'm going to be able to find 5 willing teammates to partake in the multiplayer. I think the Rift has the potential to have a really big impact in the horror genre.

I'm actually not that fond of horror experiences at all, hahaha. I like certain movies and so, but eeeeh... a bit too tense for me. The multiplayer makes me interested though, it could be quite fun :P looking forward to seeing more of this.

@TheHolyChicken, we're designing the game to be for up to 3 v 1 at the minute, so you'd only have to find three team-mates to play with. Also as you can see in the video, we are adapting the game to make it compatible for people without the rift, so you can play with your friends.

@BOLL, well the great thing is if you don't want to get freaked out all the time, you can always just play as the ghost and scare the other players instead!

When we are satisfied with the quality of the game, we will release it for download. That could be as early as a couple weeks, however depending on how the game does in the VR Jam, we may take additional time to expand the game's scope and create even more content. If so, Ryan will be updating with our plans on where we want to take this, so keep an eye out for future updates.

Hey guys, we've been really quiet with Specter Seekers in its development, but that doesn't mean we've not been busy. We're at a stage now where we're starting to give people copies of our singleplayer demo to try out as we continue to work on the multiplayer, and things are going great so far! We've decided to rename the game to "Spectre", and our group is now called "Proscenium".

We are developing both an Oculus Rift and NON oculus rift version of the game, meaning you can play with your friends no matter who they are! Although the feedback we've got so far is really positive and people enjoy the game a lot, this only scratches the surface of what we've been working on and the gameplay of the multiplayer. We're super excited to be working on this and want to develop a solid, well polished game with high replay value for everyone to enjoy. Please fire away with any questions, and follow our facebook page https://www.facebook.com/SpectreGame for general talk and updates on everything we're doing.
