3RD person Games MENT TO BE RIFTED too.

Post by Dilip »

Waited long for this to happen as its ofcourse not breaking immersion wile you be follower guiding soul of your protegonist. i have experinced immersion while playing TOMBRAIDER 2013 and MASS EFFECT 3 even on my LG Monitor and i will surely invest in to VorpX if no one else come out with proper middlewear as i loved Dead Space 2,3 in 3D and cant stop my self from wanting in VR too when my Consumer Version land in my hands.

Castlevania Dawn Of Shadows was my first game on samsung java mobile SGH -j150 its nice to see this game is making way to VR if it ever happens

http://www.ubergizmo.com/2013/07/castle ... t-support/

http://asia.gamespot.com/news/castlevan ... rt-6411187

its nice to see next MASS EFFECT on VR with next DREGON AGE if they too could ever made as FROSTBITE is also discovering opportunities, even in past we have palmer mentioning Assasins Creed too look amazing with RIFT

I think that TPP camera may eliminate all nausea, discomforts and breaks in presence coming from using gamepad / keyboard+mouse (or any other abstract controls) to play.
Is there any TPP demo with native OR support out now? I would like to check if my theory is correct.

I reccomend you check out Dark, by Kalypso, it has a TPP and native rift support. I've played it for about an hour or so. Really have to tweak the settings to get it just right though.

The IPD and 3D strength. Although after playing with them to where its at a comfortable level, the depth really isnt strong.

Do you know exactly what this "3D strength" setting is supposed to do technically?

Its basically used to exaggerate or lower the perceived depth. Unfortunately for myself at least, having it at 100 or higher gives me some slight eye strain as some it doesnt appear to have convergence at infinity. Unless i'm mistaken.

im stereoscopic blind and i find third person games to be crap on the rift, its nothing against the rift just my own issue lol. For FPS games i can feel seriously immersed, but not with 3rd person games, i think while it might be good for those of you with decent viewing spheres but i dont think it will ever be as good as first person.

I think both 2 types (1st and 3rd) are fun in their own ways. However, it would be best to play a 1st person game on the Rift. 1st is meant for VR, nothing else. 3rd person games would be cool to play on the RIFT but it can't never reach the immersion that 1st person games could bring.

I m sure those who enjoyed DUES EX HUMAN REVOLUTION knows its cover system where when you take cover from FPP you get to TPP what will you say about those kind of game were they not immersive

its matter of taste and lill perspective may work for some may not work for some still too enticing to atleast be tried when properly done.

Right on. I never thought 3rd person made sense for VR, but it's actually pretty cool.
