Previously they just had a web developer posting, now they have a full gamut of postings for a team to develop a consumer electronics project.

Too bad I don't qualify for any of them! (I'm a opto-mechanical engineer in the aerospace field)

Maybe some of you forum readers have the right experience?

That's great news. It was concerning when Oculus' method of shrinking their display circuit board was cutting it in half with a hacksaw! ;)

I would urge them to also look for someone skilled with FPGA (VHDL, Verilog) development in their Senior Hardware Engineer listing.

I'd like to apply for the role of "tester". No need to pay me, just send me every iteration of the rift as they are made :p

Hey! It was a Dremel, and anyway I'm good at reverse-engineering circuit boards. ;) They still work afterwards, of course.
I'm just slicing up the ones we have for our prototypes. They're certainly not final!

Yeah! Palmer and I have known each other for years. I was among the first eight people hired. :)
My official title is hardware engineer, but I do lots more as well.

Just a heads up, one of the postings (Senior DSP engineer) wants "MathLab" experience (the popular numerical computing environment from Mathworks is "MATLAB", without an 'h').

Hey! It was a Dremel...

Well, that explains why there were no listings for someone with 5-10 years of experience with a Dremel! :D

I wish I could be a part of Oculus somehow, would be so cool. Unfortunately I've been stuck in my basement reading and tinkering for too long and have no carrier and no useful education. Hahahaha, oh well.

Me too sort of, but web development doesn't interest me in this case. It would simply be heart breaking to work there and only be involved in web development.
Really wouldnt qualify anyway, expert level knowledge of javascript? Not so much.

A note for all the people who are PMing me resumes: I can't go through all of them at the moment, but we will definitely do so at some point. The job listings are up so we can start getting resumes, but that does not mean we are hiring them all at this exact moment in time. A lot of the ramping up will be later this year/early next year as we start serious work on the consumer product.

Hopefully the OculusVR team includes an optometrist too.

I am hoping there will be a position for general clown with no experience basement dweller type.
But then again, I would be up against 5 million other resumes.
