I've tested Acer xb270h monitor with Nvidia and Xpand YOUniversal glasses and got an interesting results.

Nvidia and Xpand glasses have different direction of polarizers.

Nvidia 3D Vision 2

Xpand YOUniversal Electronic 3D Eyewear

Nvidia glasses are fully transparent at horizontal position, but Xpand YOUniversal transparent at diagonal position (45 deg).
Using of Xpand YOUniversal glasses with aset xb270h cause discomfort because of brightness changing during head tilting.

In other hand, Nvidia glasses have worse ergonomy, little more ghosting (worse lcd shutters or incorrect timings) and annoying hotspots at the rim.

I wish to find a monitor that I could use with Xpand glasses.
If anyone have tested other 3D monitors with active stereo, please share your results!!

So aside from the polarization thing what do you think of the monitor?

Since shutters and lcd's both use linear polarization as light control, this is the phenomena you will have. Also as you noticed, the direction of the polarization can be different between lcd-models. 0/90° are most common while there are a few 45/135°.
45/135° are well suited for passive stereomirror setups since no filters, just a pair a polarized 45/135° glasses will work.

If one pair of shutterglasses doesn't work with a monitor because of the polarization direction, then you can try adding a transparent sheet of a querterwave retarder in front of your glasses (or monitor). Rotate the retarder until the colors are fine. According to some, cellophane is fine and should at least work for testing.
