Vireio Perception 2.13 Released

Far Cry 3 with Vireio Perception 2.13

We were obviously do for an update!  First, we now have a means for end users to donate to Vireio Perception and help build our game testing library.  For convenience, we are using Valve's Steam platform with Steam Wallet codes.  Please follow the instructions carefully.

We are also pleased to release Vireio Perception 2.13.  It's still a work in progress, but here are some highlights:

Other Fixes / Improvements

  • Shader Analyzer (Multiple Improvements - Performance / No Jumping on the List).
  • In-game debugging (Render states / Brassa Render time / Headtracking time).
  • Improved depth perception mode and added toggle if on wrong side (Shift + O / Alt + O).
  • New method of specifying Shaders (especially those without constant tables - allows for much larger game support moving forward - including Unity).
  • Improved Black Smear Fix (Shift + B - off by default).
  • Ability to not draw shaders at all.
  • Improvements to TVoEC shader file.
  • Added FPS Counter to VP Dialog - useful to measure without drawing to screen (which can reduce FPS).
  • Added enhancements to profile system to differentiate between similar games.
  • Added shader modification rule so that distant shaders do not respond to positional (can be used to fix skyboxes etc).
  • VR Boost (Show Axis Addresses - Shift + V) - Hugely useful for support.

We've learned that AMD graphics cards render some games differently, so we need to get some test hardware in.  For example, Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim has big problems with fog on AMD GPUs, and Far Cry 3 is unplayable because details are missing and things are rendered in all the wrong places in VR mode.  This isn't AMD's fault, we just need actual AMD hardware to test with and optimize for.
