I was the graphic developer behind the full native 3D version of the game. TDU2 is almost a bug free when talking about stereoscopic rendering. Lighting shadow, convergence, reflections and HUD are all OK. I took time to have some eye candy support for the ingame screenshot ( can be put in house photo frames or in your online profile for others ). It remains a small divergent glitch on the far trees dissolve fade in and some rare short cutscene may have the screen depth a bit too near, but in-game camera are all OK.

For the story, the two eyes are draw manually and then sent to the nvidia driver with a custom API, giving to me all the freedom to render glitch free with a fined tuned rendering pipeline. Support for AMD3D was done, but i do not know if it present and enable in the shipped game. In the options, you can adjust the depth strength (link to the 3D vision shortcut too), the mode ( 3Dvision, anaglyph, SideBySide ), the monitor diagonal to guarantee a maximum eye separation of 5-6cm and the resolution slider decrease the horizontal resolution if you are GPU bound ( but the game hit the CPU bottleneck first with a modern GPU ).

Part III: Top Level Anomalies

  • Check here if the game has no discernible out of screen effects because the convergence settings are locked out, or the game has native stereoscopic 3D support which doesn't feature out of screen effects.
