3D support on AMD card requires to modify the config file
The ingame 3D mode selection is only available when the game detects an Nvidia card or when the r_StereoSupportAMD command is flagged as true

Some variables cannot be modified in game and must be set in the game's config file "system.cfg" located in the game's main folder.
Convergence appears to be modifiable in game using the r_StereoScreenDist command but the setting only stays for one frame and is then is reset. In order to be change convergence permanently, you have to set it in the config file.
