TORONTO, ON – March 25, 2015 – Reality Abstractions Industry (RAI), announced today its revolutionary dual analog, 4-axis foot joystick called Ground Control is live on Kickstarter (http://kck.st/1y1MFpH). Designed to support hands-free locomotion in the Virtual Reality (VR) environment, the Ground Control unit sets to define a new era in VR input devices. Debuted at SXSW with live demo stations to enthusiastic attendees, the official Kickstarter campaign has begun and will run until April 23, 2015.
Aaron Switzer, President & Founder of RAI, says “The Ground Control unit is a natural
progression for the VR market. It allows for hands-free locomotion and provides a more immersive experience for the user.” Competitors in the market offer only omnidirectional devices and the cost for them is price-prohibitive. Ground Control lets the user virtually move in all directions, including jumping and crouching, and at a standard pledge level of $250 CDN, it’s by far the most economical product on the market.
“Our amazing experience at the SXSW Gaming Expo has given us great confidence going into the Kickstarter campaign. It’s time to bring Ground Control to a much wider audience”, says Switzer. “We have a commercially viable product to bring to market today. What we’re looking to get out of the Kickstarter is funding to create the moulds and subsequently start production.”
Reality Abstraction Industries is a Toronto-based company specializing in virtual and augmented reality solutions. The company’s debut product, Ground Control, is set to revolutionize the VR experience for the home user.
