Sony’s ‘Project Morpheus’ is Still at The Proto-Type Stage, But Update on the Development to be Announced on March 4.

Project Morpheus, the codename for Sony’s virtual reality headset for PlayStation 4, is currently still a prototype and has no confirmed market release date. The project was first announced at last year’s Game Developers Conference (GDC) as “the next innovation from PlayStation that will [shape] the future of games.” According to the company, Morpheus enables developers to create experiences that deliver a sense of ‘presence’ – where players feel as though they are physically inside the virtual world of a game. ‘Presence’ is like a window into another world that heightens the emotions gamers experience as they play. The company’s plans for Project Morpheus however goes beyond gaming and includes promised partnerships with NASA and to uses for immersive science.
