Finale Fireworks introduces Finale 3D, the most realistic professional fireworks show design software ever produced, at the PGI 2014 Convention this week. Attendees got to experience fireworks in virtual reality for the first time using Finale 3D from Finale Fireworks and a virtual reality headset from Oculus VR

Mason City, Iowa—August 14, 2014 – Fireworks professionals and enthusiasts at the PGI convention this week got to experience fireworks in virtual reality for the first time using new software from Finale Fireworks and a virtual reality headset from Oculus VR. The demonstration was part of the product announcement for Finale 3D, the most realistic professional fireworks show design software ever produced.

Thousands of fireworks shows every year are scripted to music, or “choreographed” as it is called by professionals, using software to visualize the show before it is shot off in front of audiences. The new Finale 3D software enables designers to see the show from the audience perspective, to answer questions like, “What does the show look like from the side?” or “Can the audience see the breaks in the sky and the effects near the ground at the same time?”

Virtual reality technology has been in the national spotlight for its future applications beyond video games. Fireworks may be one of the first industries to bring the technology into actual use. And it may not be long before fireworks display companies bring a VR headset to help present their show proposals to their prospective customers.

Finale 3D will be released in early 2015, with three versions for pyro clubs, professionals, and elites. The software will range from $29/month for pyro club members to $199/month for elites.
