Skeptics take note – virtual reality headsets are the future of immersive gaming.

I’ve always been doubtful about VR, whether it’s Sony’s Project Morpheus or the Oculus Rift, but after going hands-on with both device’s at E3 this year, I’m now a believer. While Oculus’ ecosystem is very open, allowing developers to tinker with the device and create their own demos, Sony’s Project Morpheus seems to be relatively closed and we haven’t seen many gameplay demos for the headset.

The short demo I played, called “Street Louge,” had me laying down on a bean bag chair while wearing the Project Morpheus VR headset. From the moment the headset was pulled over my face, I was lost in the game and at one point actually forgot I was still at E3.
