Videogame Giants Talks About Games, Not Entertainment Features of Consoles

LOS ANGELES—As the doors opened at the annual E3 videogame industry gathering here this week, the tone had already been set: gamers only.
Pulling back from past efforts to position consoles as multipurpose entertainment devices, major videogame companies squarely targeted hard-core gamers—typically young men with ample disposable income who like to use consoles and controllers to shoot, climb and fly on TV screens.
