Virtual reality headset Oculus Rift will launch this summer with a price tag of $499 or less based on an upcoming product that integrates the technology.

Oculus VR is demonstrating a new prototype of their virtual reality headset behind closed doors at CES (stay tuned for eyes-on impressions), but the team still isn’t talking about a release window or suggested retail price. They may not have to, however. A joint venture between Virtuix and Virtual World Web called “Holodeck v 1.0″ just made its public debut on the CES show floor, and may have tipped both release date and price for the Oculus Rift.
