Gaming accessories are increasingly becoming more advanced. The Oculus Rift, a gaming headset, is on the forefront of virtual reality technology and is looking to release in 2014.
The headset is basically goggles that strap easily onto the user’s head and feature a 720p dual display inside. The inner display is in two separate parts, one for each eye, creating stereoscopic three-dimensional effects. Movement from the user’s head shifts the movement of the virtual reality to mimic the motion of looking around. This is capable through the use of accelerometers, determining the user’s head angle due to the pull of gravity.
