A Queen’s University professor has created a 3D telecommunication device reminiscent of the holodeck in Star Trek. The “telepods” allow two people to communicate with each other across distance as if they are standing face-to-face.
“Why Skype when you can talk to a life-size 3D holographic image of another person?” says professor Roel Vertegaal, director of the Human Media Lab.
