30 April 2012 LEAMINGTON SPA, UK Blitz Games Studios is now expanding its latest recruitment drive, opening over 20 vacancies at all levels and across several disciplines, with a particular focus on Programmer opportunities, including Senior, Tools and Graphics Programmer roles.

Following the announcement of Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two (developed in conjunction with Junction Point Studios and Disney Interactive Entertainment), and with new contracts signed on a wide variety of other soon-to-be-announced titles, the Studio is actively seeking talented and passionate creatives to help it build the next generation of gaming experiences on a variety of leading edge platforms.

For over 20 years Blitz Games Studios’ passion for making great games has put it at the forefront of the global games market. Utilising its own industry-leading, award-winning middleware, BlitzTech, the studio have a back catalogue of over 60 titles, across all platforms.

“There’s never been a more exciting time to be a part of Blitz Games Studios”, says Philip Oliver, CEO. “We are extremely excited about all of the projects currently under development, a large number of them our own intellectual properties.  We are also working in partnership with some of the world’s most prestigious publishers.

“Not only do we pride ourselves on the quality of our games, more importantly it’s the quality of our people that makes us stand out from the crowd. We’re looking for experienced and driven individuals to add to our already dynamic creative force.”

The company culture at Blitz empowers its staff to strive for excellence in their chosen fields, while supporting them with an award-winning in-house training and personal development initiative – Blitz Academy.

Blitz also encourages its employees to create their own games in their spare time, and allows them, rather uniquely, to retain all the creative and financial rights to their IP.

Explains Philip: “The benefits to this kind of creative freedom and IP ownership are not only to the individuals and teams who work on their own games, who are able to tap into each other’s creative talents, but the Studio as a whole also benefits from the skills and lessons they learn on these projects.”
