Nintendo Chief Writes to 3DS Early Adopters

Nintendo president Satoru Iwata has publicly addressed early adopters of the company’s 3DS portable console in an open letter published to the Nintendo website.

Nintendo surprised a lot of people last week when it chose to cut the price of the 3DS down to $169.99 from $249.99. However, you can bet that no one was more surprised than the early adopters that coughed up $249.99 for the device in the months following its launch. Nintendo admitted earlier this week that it’s not usual for the company to cut the price of a product so soon after launch and today, president Satoru Iwata has apologised directly to early adopters that might feel slighted by the decision.
