Samsung Elec to expand 3-D TV lineup to 7

Jan 5 (Reuters) – Samsung Electronics, the world’s biggest TV maker, plans to expand its lineup of 3-D sets to seven models from three, offering more affordable televisions in a bid to boost demand for the new technology which has seen weak sales so far.

Samsung and other top TV makers such as LG Electronics Inc and Sony are betting aggressively on 3-D and Internet-connected TV as intense price competition in the flat-panel TV market erodes profitability.
