Crytek CEO: ‘3D Entertainment Is Inevitable’

Cevat Yerli sees Crysis 2 as something of an ambassador for stereoscopic 3D in video games, with an important role to play in what Crytek believes is a larger trend in entertainment and technology.

In today’s in-depth feature, Yerli tells Gamasutra that the company began researching the technology two years ago, though it has yet to ship an entertainment title that uses stereoscopic 3D. “We had done some contract work for some other non-game businesses where stereoscopic 3D was required,” he says, referring to the company’s serious gaming business.
