DXG Launches Glasses-Free 3D Media Player

The Nintendo 3DS brought “glasses-free” 3D technology to the forefront and now other companies are following suit. DXG is the latest to bring out a brand new portable media player that can present the depth of a 3D image or video to a human eye without the need for 3D glasses.

Just like the 3DS, it works with a series of intricate mirrors worked into the display itself to make it appear as though there is a level of depth to the screen.

Available exclusively at high-end novelty goods store Hammacher Schlemmer, the new display from DXG comes as part of a bundle with a new point-and-shoot 3D digital camcorder. The camera has a 3.2-inch LCD
display, which can also display 3D images. 3D content recorded there can look even more spectacular on a 3D TV.
