Intel’s integrated graphics to get 3D upgrade, expands WiDi program

3D technology is about to hit the mainstream user, as Intel has plans to incorporate stereoscopic capabilities into its integrated graphics chipsets. Instead of active shutter glasses, the company intends to use passive polarized spectacles for viewing 3D Blu-ray movies. This is an exciting development as it should bring the cost and power consumption down from the current 3D implementation which requires discrete graphics cards.
