LED-backlit LCD TV`s Penetration to Top 70% in Taiwan in 2011: Samsung Taiwan
Taipei, April 13, 2010 (CENS)–Samsung Electronics, the global leader in many consumer electronic products, recently lunched a comprehensive series of 3D LCD TV models as well as 32- to 60-inch LED TVs in Taiwan, also announcing its goal to lead these two product categories on the island.
According to Samsung Taiwan president Smile Kim, the penetration of LED TV in Taiwan is expected to rapidly grow from 20% this year to 70% by 2011.
Kim pointed out that Samsung sold 25 million LCD TVs worldwide in 2009, including 2.6 million LED-backlit models. This year, the Korean brand aims to ship 10 million LED TVs and two million 3D models. The country president added that Samsung might raise its annual sales volume goal if continue to enjoy smooth sales in big retailers as BESTBUY in the U.S.
