Worthington embraces ‘Titans’ remake

LOS ANGELES — If you hadn’t noticed, the gods are smiling on Sam Worthington.

Formerly hailed as the most famous actor you’ve never heard of, the 33-year-old Australian is now busily fulfilling expectations: headlining his third mega-budget blockbuster in less than a year. Say that about Taylor Lautner.

Opening Thursday night on 3D and 2D screens, Clash of the Titans casts Worthington as Perseus, the half-mortal son of Zeus (Liam Neeson) who battles such mythical monstrosities as the serpent-coifed Medusa and sea-dwelling Kraken.
