Michael Bay confirms 3D tests and new characters for Transformers 3

Transformers director Michael Bay last year described 3D as "a pain in the neck" and a technological fad, saying he preferred old-school filmmaking and that his shooting style was too aggressive for 3D cameras.
Then along came Avatar and its record-breaking, extra-dimensional success.
Earlier this month, Variety said Bay, studio chiefs at Paramount and visual FX wizards at Industrial Light and Magic had discussed whether to make Transformers 3 in 3D.
