Would you prefer an OLED or 3D laptop display?

Laptop displays will be hitting a crossroad soon. On the one hand, OLED (organic light-emitting diode) screens have been touted as the Next Big Thing for notebooks. But during last week`s CES 2010 tradeshow in Las Vegas the focus was almost entirely on 3D technology. So the question is. Will these two battle it out a la Blu-ray vs. HD-DVD? Or will they coexist peacefully?

Before jumping to conclusions, let`s revisit the pros and cons of these two technologies. OLED panels use pixels which emit their own light, which not only means slimmer displays since a backlight is no longer required, but also more realistic colors. Unfortunately, the cost per panel is still painfully high at this time.
