DirecTV Reportedly To Launch 3D Channel

DirecTV (DTV) plans to launch the first U.S. 3D high-def TV channel early next year, according to HDGuru.com. The story says the company will announce the channel at the Consumer Electronics Show in Las Vegas on January 7.

This morning, DirecTV announced the successful launch yesterday of a new satellite that will allow it to boost HD capacity by 50%. The new satellite is expected to be operational in the second quarter.
