Sony rethinks ad strategy as market share declines

Sony has high expectations for the 3D TV market because it can supply screens, 3D Blu-ray players, camcorders, movies and games.
However, Gartner analyst Paul O`Donovan warns uptake in the 3D TV market is likely to be much slower than Sony thinks. "I expect a significant increase in the supply of 3D TVs to the market, but don`t expect any significant demand," he tells StrategyEye. "The 3D experience consumers have in the cinema will not be the same for in the home. Sony will have to invest in a serious educational programme or risk confusing customers."
