Sydney Film Festival: A sneak peek
Films from over 40 countries will be screened during the festival, which runs from 3-14th June – and include short films, features, documentaries and archive titles.
The festival also recognizes excellence in filmmaking, and presents several awards including the Dendy Awards for Australian Short Films, and the Official Competition which celebrates ‘courageous and audacious film making’.
Included in the selection is the 3D family film Coraline, directed Henry Selick, most famous for his helm of The Nightmare Before Christmas.
Selick creates an extraordinary gothic fairytale world in the first stop-motion feature shot in stereoscopic 3D, based on Neil Gamain`s beloved novel and featuring the voices of Dakota Fanning, Teri Hatcher, Jennifer Saunders and Dawn French.
