"The one market that I think will really take off is PC games in stereo..." - Dr. Jon Peddie, Jon Peddie Research

Another video to share with you from Dimension-3 Expo!

This is the first portion of Dr. Jon Peddie’s presentation at Dimension-3 Expo. Dr. Peddie is one of the most influential analysts in the computer graphics industry, and MTBS was honored to co-present with him at the D3 this year. Share your thoughts on this video in our forums!

NVIDIA has released the 186.18 version of their stereoscopic 3D driver to compliment the 186.18 GeForce drivers. This software will run on both the GeForce 3D Vision and Zalman monitor solutions.

New features include:

- Adds support for ViewSonic PJD-6210-3D and PJD-6220-3D projectors.
- New 3D Vision game profiles: Prototype, Up, Velvet Assassin, X-Men Origins Wolverine
- Updated 3D Vision game profiles for Call of Duty 4, Call of Duty World at War, Gears of War
- Added 3D game slide show preview in 3D. You can launch this preview on the last step of the 3D Vision Setup Wizard.
- Added support for Cooliris v1.10, the full-screen 3D Wall that speeds up search on Google Images, YouTube, Flickr, and more.

MTBS can confirm that smoke and fire effects are rendering much better with this driver, and it’s worth installing. Share your results in our discussion forums.

On the iZ3D front, we made a discovery today for those interested. Their 1.10RC1 driver features YouTube compatibility where you can see side by side movies in S-3D when viewed in full screen. Unfortunately, this only worked for some members, and not for all. Activating Aero in Windows Vista solves this problem.

To celebrate this, we have launched a special YouTube movie sharing forum. Even if your drivers do no support YouTube S-3D natively, you can download the movies for viewing in a separate player. Have fun!
