XpanD has announced their new XpanD X101 series!
Positioned as a premium 3D glasses solution for stereoscopic 3D consumers, they promise to appeal to a select audience. This is the same brand that has been associated with the well received 103″ Panasonic 3D HDTV solution. Read through their current feature list. Most interesting is their future compatibility with radio transmitters instead of infrared connectivity.
They are currently marketed towards the at-home 3D cinema space, but if they can work with NVIDIA and/or iZ3D driver solutions with either a DLP checkerboard or high refresh rate display, we see a promising future for this company in the gaming markets as well.
Speaking of gaming markets, a few days ago, we reported that a special article was written in Veritus et Visus’ 3rd Dimention Newsletter which pit industry analyst leader Jon Peddie of Jon Peddie Research against Neil Schneider, President & CEO of Meant to be Seen on the topic of stereoscopic 3D viability in the home. You can now read the article and share your thoughts in our discussion forums. If you want to get the entire newsletter, just send an email to mark@veritasetvisus.com.
