Meant to be Seen is very much about helping make the industry work, and today is no different. One of our responsibilities as a stereoscopic 3D advocacy and authority group is to back the initiatives that are sincerely working to drive the industry forward, and the following are two events worth noting.
First, the 3D Film and Interactive Festival is headed by a good friend of MTBS’ named Christopher Crescitelli. Targeted to end consumers, this festival is over a week in length (October 10th to 19th) and features screenings of 3D films and presentations. I will be present to talk about the excitement behind stereoscopic 3D (S-3D) gaming, and I’m looking forward to more events like this. We will have more information to share in the coming days. For now, if you can get yourself into the Cocoa Beach, Florida area, I look forward to seeing you there!
The second event is the 3D Entertainment Summit. What I particularly like about this conference is it has some leading names attached including Bob Dowling, Former Publisher and Editor-in-Chief of the Hollywoood Reporter, Jeffrey Katzenberg, CEO & President of Dreamworks, and David Hill, Chairman and CEO of the Fox Sports Television Group. I think the most successful events are the ones driven by a personal passion for the technology, and the 3D Entertainment Summit meets that criteria for us. It has been framed as a business to business conference, and it is designed to brainstorm amongst the players to push our industry forward. There is a discount program for MTBS members, and we will be sharing that information as soon as it is available.
Meant to be Seen is one of the key media sponsors for both these events, and we look forward to assisting other efforts in the near future.
