Hello everyone and HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!! It has been a year since mtbs3D.com was launched, and we are celebrating! WOOOHOOOOO!!!!
First, mtbs3D.com is now on dedicated hosting. Why should you care that we are on dedicated hosting? Well, if all goes to plan, the site will no longer go down unpredictably for one. The popular use of the gallery and forums was holding us back because of traffic limitations, so that problem is GONE!
Second, now that we are on dedicated hosting, we are able to implement ideas we couldn’t even consider before.
The goal behind mtbs3D.com is to promote and foster ways to get superior game immersion and visual beauty out of video games, and stereoscopic 3D is the best way to accomplish this mission. In year one, we have benefited from the participation of the existing S-3D community, and now we want to give our members the tools needed to spread the word, and add features to the site that will appeal to traditional 2D gamers.
Sharky has been working very hard on MTBS Nations At War (NAW), a Massively Multiplayer Online Game (MMOG). It starts out simple enough, but is deceivingly addictive. Played in real-time, members need to build a city that will stand the tests of time by climbing to the top ranks of the game. The only way to do this is to research new technologies, build armies and structures, and ultimately attack and defend against other players. The game also features allegiances, resource sharing, and a private messaging system during game play.
All you need to join NAW is either a Mozilla Firefox or Internet Explorer browser, and no additional plug-ins or software is required. Add to the fun and encourage your friends to play! It’s all free. The game URL is highlighted on the main menu.
MTBS is quickly approaching 3,000 registered members. To be more influential with game developers in encouraging programming standards for better S-3D compatibility, we want 100,000 registered members. NAW is one of many efforts we are taking to appeal to traditional 2D gamers so we can foster stereoscopic 3D gaming success.
The last stage of the dedicated hosting transfer will take a few days, so the confusing URL you are seeing is just temporary, and you can use the site as you normally would during this transfer process. This, by the way, is another thing we need to thank Sharky for. He has been working non-stop in his personal time to make the site functional on a dedicated hosting platform. This new functionality would not have been possible without him.
Special thanks go to iZ3D LLC and TDVIsion Corp. for their continued support. The FAQ and PRESIDENT’S MESSAGE sections have been updated on the main menu to reflect website changes and current positioning.
Enough talk! Get in the game, and let’s see who will be the number one nation at war!
