MTBS Breaks 2,000 Members!

Hello everyone!

Our designers are hard at work fixing and updating MTBS with our new registration and database platforms. Just a few short weeks ago, while the spambot postings were nil, the membership count shown on the forums was pure fantasy because they were filled with thousands of spambots registering on the MTBS forums, while the actual registrant count was kept in a separate database.

Now that we have a single registration system, our true membership count is shown in the forums, and as of today, we passed a significant milestone:



MTBS now has over 2,000 registered members in just ten months of operation through word of mouth efforts alone. This is a tiny fraction of the community size and influence level we want to achieve in our industry, but given the former challenges members had with registering on MTBS, the false niche market stigma attached to the site and our industry, and the learning curve associated with starting a service like this, I think we all should be very proud of what we have accomplished here.

From now on, if anyone ever says something like "there are only a couple hundred gamers who are interested in this stuff", we can refute them by having a real number to point them to, and this MTBS membership number is only going to grow.

We are finalizing our plans for 2008, and we think it is going to be a stellar year for the S-3D industry and the MTBS members. Special thanks to iZ3D and TDVision Systems for their support in 2007.
