Nick Brown, Stereographer, Stereo D
Something uniquely 3D to share today! Nick Brown is a stereographer at Stereo D and was the Supervising Stereographer for Blade Runner 2049. He is going to be giving a special lecture about Blade Runner 2049 at Immersed and how they meticulously converted the film from its original 2D format to magical 3D. We were impressed with what we saw especially when you consider it was a conversion versus a native 3D camera shoot. While we aren’t normally big on 3D conversions, the work speaks for itself. After Immersed, we’ll share a review of what stood out for us and what has changed in the 3D market since we last covered stereoscopic 3D film.
His main session is on the Saturday, so you can get a single day pass for his lecture among other amazing speakers that day.
In the meantime, we strongly recommend registering for the show because Nick is just a sampling of the amazing speakers you will get to meet and network with. Other companies speaking include Intel, IBM, AMD, Nvidia, Google, Space Channel, FORREC, Tom’s Hardware, Lytro, HP, Groupe Média TFO, Chosen Realities, Motion Workshop, HumanEyes, Jon Peddie Research, and many more. Over 50% of the Immersed speakers are international which says a lot about the uniqueness of the speakers – especially in this neck of the woods.

Habib Zargarpour, Visual Effects Supervisor
We are also going to be joined by Visual Effects Supervisor Habib Zargarpour. Habib was the Visual Effects Consultant for Blade Runner 2049, and it’s his Real Time Visualization System that is being used to create Steven Spielberg’s film Ready Player One. He is a two-time BAFTA award winner and a double Academy Award nominee.
