Magic Leap SDK Out Soon!

By June 3, 2015News

It looks like people are going to start taking that Magic Leap after all!

Reported by Techcrunch, Magic Leap is launching their development platform and just opened a Developers section of its website where people can sign up for access to its SDK, which will work with the Unreal and Unity game engines.  It’s not out yet, mind you – soon!

More than this, $592 million can go pretty fast.  Magic Leap spent part of its half-plus billion dollar financing round to build a 300,000 square foot pilot manufacturing facility in Florida for its “photonic lightfield chip”.  This chip is responsible for powering its augmented reality headset that shoots light directly onto your eye instead of placing a screen in front of it.

According to Magic Leap CEO Rony Abovitz, “We’re out of the R&D phase and into the transition to real product introduction.”

Cool!
