3D Film Festival
We will never forget their humble beginnings and how they started in a small Cocoa Beach, Florida hotel with a handful of exhibitors in 2008, and have since grown into a cross-country fixture of 3D and immersive films and content with the top names attached.  Anyone who has witnessed their growth would be equally amazed and impressed.

The seventh 3D Film Festival (3DFF) is being held this coming Saturday, December 6.  Leading names attached include 3opolis, RealD, 4DX, Creative Technology Center, Dzignlight Studios, Holo-gauze, ImmersiON-VRelia, Social House, Boys & Girls Club, Freevi, VRLA, Hollywood Toys and Costumes, Dos Equis, The International 3D & Advanced Imaging Society, and The Immersive Technology Alliance.

3DFF takes place at Regal Cinemas L.A LIVE and The Hotel Figueroa in Downtown Los Angeles from 10:00AM to 2:00AM. This kick-ass event will feature two new cutting edge technology programs including a first-of-its-kind 4D Film Festival line up including Dreamworks Animation S.K.G’s 20th Century Fox release of “Penguins of Madagascar in 4D” and Lionsgate’s “The Hungergames Mockingjay Part 1 in 4D”. Both films will be screened in Regal Cinemas new 4DX enabled movie theater, the first in the United States to feature 4D technology pioneered by CJ 4D Plex (HOW COOL IS THAT?!?).

VR fans will also enjoy experiences by Havas Worldwide and Dos Equis who will showcase their award winning “Dos Equis Masquerade”, a revolutionary new VR Ad campaign for the Oculus Rift featuring The Most Interesting Man in the World, who stars in this first-ever live action 3D cinematic virtual reality film directed by Jordan Fish and Patrick Sherman in partnership with Montreal based filmmakers Felix & Paul. This exhibit will also be shown at the official 3DFF Costume Masquerade Ball & After Party (and Chris Crescitelli who is the organizer of all this knows how to put on a big party!).

Additional VR displays include “11:57” (the first interactive short horror film for VR) presented by Sid Lee with VR technology by Wemersive. Showcased in 3DFF’s very first VR Fright Room, it will demonstrate a fully immersive VR experience by ImmersiON-VRelia on their smartphone powered VR HMD “the GO”. Also, “Collider” presented by Edward Lee (an interactive audiovisual VR experience with motion controls), WemoLab (VR content and software creators); Otherworld Interactive (A VR Content Studio that will be showing off their Mobile and Oculus Experiences); “Freevi” featuring the Flight Deck 3D Android Tablet; Specular Theory (VR content creators) plus other great exhibits.

There is just too much to list here. This is the full program downloadable in PDF format. It’s going to be EPIC!
