Oculus VR Releases Mobile SDK

By November 12, 2014March 24th, 2020News

Oculus VR has revealed their new Mobile SDK at the Oculus Developer Center.

To make coding samples easier to understand and follow, the source code has been included for Oculus Cinema, Oculus 360 Photos, and Oculus 360 Videos.  Obviously, someone in the Oculus marketing department was screaming “Guess what!  I’ve got a fever!  And the only prescription is MORE OCULUS!”

(If you are an SNL fan, you KNOW this sketch!)

All joking aside, other key features include:

  • Asynchronous Timewarp
  • Direct front buffer rendering
  • Clock frequency locking
  • GPU context priorities
  • Real-time, fine grained GPU context switching
  • Real-time CPU threading
  • Direct warped content
